The 6×4 heavy-duty chassis is a three-axle heavy-duty commercial chassis, equipped with one steering front axle and two parallel drive rear axles, with a total of 6 wheel positions and 4 drive wheels. It is called a rear dual-drive chassis in the industry. This chassis has strong load-bearing capacity and large driving torque. It is a mainstream basic chassis for special modification. It can be modified into mixer trucks, tank trucks, sanitation trucks, special engineering vehicles, etc.
The chassis frame adopts high-strength girders, mostly double-layer or partially three-layer reinforced structures, which are resistant to distortion and impact, and can adapt to heavy loads and complex bumpy road conditions. The suspension system uses multi-leaf leaf springs with large load bearing capacity to meet the heavy load requirements of engineering modifications. The power is matched with a large-displacement diesel engine with large output torque. It is matched with a manual engineering gearbox. The transmission system is matched with dual rear axle main reducers. It has excellent hill climbing performance and muddy road grip performance, and is not prone to slipping when starting under heavy loads. The total vehicle mass is generally at the 25-ton level, and the wheelbase configuration can be selected according to the bodywork purpose; the braking system adopts pneumatic braking and is equipped with ABS as standard to ensure the safety of heavy-load driving. The cab has good visibility, is equipped with shock-absorbing and comfortable seats, and can be equipped with optional safety auxiliary devices such as reversing radar and imaging.
Compared with the 8×4 four-axle chassis, the 6×4 chassis has a shorter wheelbase, smaller turning radius, better site passing flexibility, and lower vehicle weight. It is suitable for mining, construction sites, and non-paved road operation scenarios; the two drive rear axles jointly output power, and have stronger ability to escape difficulties on ramps and muddy and potholed roads. The chassis reserves a complete power take-off interface, hydraulic pipeline installation position, and modified wiring harness interface to facilitate the installation and modification of various special tops. It has strong versatility, a large stock in the aftermarket, and convenient maintenance.
